Rise above the Muck
Do not let yourself get stuck
I was out for a run the other day with the pups. Sunrise was peeking over the mountains. When I looked out over the view below me, I saw clouds down in the valley.
I was up above these clouds. My view was clear and unobstructed. If I was down in the valley, all I would see is fog.
Got me thinking…
Throughout my average day, it is so easy to climb down into the muck of the world. There are so many people and organizations that want your attention, between social, tv, news, sports, colleagues, work, etc, etc, etc.. When you give your attention to things that do move you forward, then you are in the muck. You get to choose where and to whom you give your attention.
My daily walk/run with my dogs is the single most important activity I can do. It removes me from the muck and allows me to give my attention to my own thoughts, my own ideas, and my own view of the world.
There are times when you have to climb down into muck in our daily lives. However, do not let it control you. Make a daily habit to rise above and spend some time with yourself. Explore who you are and who you want to be.
Rise above the Muck.
